Product Description

OYADE hot melt butyl sealant is a one-component, 100% solid, polyisobutylene rubber-based solid elastic sealant. It contains no solvents and won't fog or vulcanize. And it maintains permanent plasticity and is suitable for sealing insulating glass. It does not crack on the surface nor change in hardness. It exhibits good adhesion to materials such as glass, aluminum alloy, galvanized steel, stainless steel, and so on.

Curing:

After evenly applying the sealant, there is no need to wait for the butyl sealant to cure. Just wait for its temperature to drop before bonding to the glass.

Performance Data:

OYADE hot melt butyl sealant meets all requirements of JC/T 914-2014 (2017) technical standard for insulating glass butyl hot melt sealant.

Technique parameters:

Usage Restrictions:

1. The bonding surface must be clean, free of dust, grease, etc.

2. Do not use on frosted or damp surfaces.

3. Preheat to 110°C~150°C before extrusion. Use a dedicated hot melt butyl rubber extruder and ensure that the ambient temperature is not lower than 5°C.

Product Specifications:

28kg/CTN;  4 columns/CTN; 7kg/column; Diameter 180mm

Storage and Shelf Life:

It is non-hazardous and suitable for various transportation methods.

Please store it in a cool and dry place below 27°C. The shelf life is 12 months. It is recommended to use it within 6 months after purchase.

Instructions:

1. Clean the aluminum spacer thoroughly and prepare for use.

2. Preheat the butyl hot melt sealing sealant in the extruder cylinder to 120-135°C. Once the temperature is stable, and the sealant is extruded smoothly without interruption, apply the sealant onto the groove of the aluminum spacer. After allowing it to cool slightly, press it against clean glass to form the semi-finished insulating glass unit.

3. After applying the external sealing sealant and allowing it to cure, the insulating glass unit is complete.

Maintenance:

1. After heating, the butyl sealant should be applied by professional equipment. There is no need to wait for curing. After cooling and lamination, it will form a strong bond with the spacer and glass. When using, pay attention to apply it evenly. And there should be no bubbles or discontinuities that affect the sealing effect.

2. Generally, maintenance is not required. However, if there is aging or other issues with the insulating glass during use, professional personnel should use specialized tools to clean the window. And then reapply the sealant for installation.

Operation Safety Guidelines:

1. This product is non-toxic and does not pose harm to humans. When handling the hot melt butyl sealing sealant, ensure hands are clean and free from dust, oil, and solvents. It is recommended to wear clean and lint-free gloves during application to avoid burns.

2. During extrusion, control the temperature of the sealant below 160°C. It is strictly prohibited to extrude at temperatures exceeding 170°C to prevent sealant aging and decomposition. The ambient temperature during application should not be lower than 10°C.
