OYADE at GLASSTEC 2026

2026-10-24 OYADE

Widely used in various fields, perfect solution to your problems.

Held from October 20 to 23, 2026, GLASSTEC 2026 took place at Messe Düsseldorf, Germany, bringing together glass manufacturers, technology providers, and industry professionals from around the world. The event provided an opportunity to exchange industry insights, explore market developments, and build new business connections.

For insulating glass unit (IGU) manufacturers, long-term product performance depends not only on the glass itself, but also on critical components such as edge sealing systems, spacer systems, and desiccants. With 17 years of experience in manufacturing insulating glass materials, OYADE continues to focus on these essential production needs. At GLASSTEC 2026, we connected with international industry professionals to discuss product applications and sourcing requirements.

Three Key Components in IGU Production

01. Dual Sealing Systems: How Do Butyl and Silicone Sealants Work Together?

A dual-seal IGU system typically consists of primary and secondary seals. The primary seal mainly provides a barrier against water vapor, while the secondary seal adds bonding strength, structural support, and long-term durability. Each seal serves a different purpose, and together they contribute to the overall performance of the IGU edge-sealing system.

OYADE hot-melt butyl sealant offers excellent water vapor barrier properties and is used for primary sealing. Our two-component silicone sealant provides strong adhesion, high mechanical strength, and excellent weather resistance, making it suitable for secondary sealing in IGU production.

Buyer’s Tip: When selecting sealants, consider more than just the price. IGU construction, sealant compatibility, production processes, and the intended application should all be taken into account.

02. Spacer Systems: Aluminum Spacers or Warm Edge Spacers?

Spacers maintain the distance between glass panes and influence the thermal performance of the IGU edge. Choosing the right spacer depends on production requirements and the thermal performance goals of the finished window system.

High-Frequency-Welded Aluminum Spacer Bars

OYADE aluminum spacer bars are manufactured using high-frequency welding technology. They feature smooth weld seams and consistent dimensions, making them suitable for a range of IGU processing requirements.

Warm Edge Spacers

Designed with low thermal conductivity, warm edge spacers help reduce heat transfer around the edges of insulating glass units. They are an option for window and glazing applications where improved energy efficiency is a priority.

Selection Tip: Aluminum and warm edge spacers serve different needs. Before purchasing, consider your processing equipment, required dimensions, thermal performance targets for the complete window system, and project budget rather than comparing material prices alone.

03. 3A Molecular Sieve: Proper Storage Matters

Keeping the space between glass panes dry is essential for IGU performance. Residual moisture can lead to condensation or fogging inside the unit. A 3A molecular sieve adsorbs moisture and is an important desiccant used in IGU manufacturing.

Buyer’s Tip: In addition to adsorption performance and product specifications, pay attention to packaging integrity, storage conditions, and exposure to ambient air before use. If a molecular sieve absorbs excessive moisture before filling, its remaining drying capacity may be reduced.

From Product Selection to Reliable Supply

Different markets, production lines, and IGU designs have different requirements for material specifications and performance. For manufacturers, choosing a supplier involves more than product quality alone. Dimensional compatibility, bulk supply capacity, and consistent supplier support are also important considerations.

OYADE offers a range of materials for IGU production, including two-component silicone sealants, high-frequency-welded aluminum spacer bars, warm edge spacers, hot-melt butyl sealants, and 3A molecular sieves. OEM customization is also available to help customers meet their specific production requirements.

Our participation in GLASSTEC 2026 provided another opportunity to connect with the international glass industry and gain further insight into customer needs across different markets.
